Unraveling Beauty

8/12/16 Notes to Myself:

I'm dismantling and detaching
from my work with the hope
of becoming more free in my
creating. This inspiration
is running in tandem with my journey
of living.

Feeling some frustration this past
week as well as some grief. I found
myself inspired to cut up
some of my paintings. What came to
mind were a few plein air
paintings done at the same site.

There was something important about
letting myself "cut up" the
pretty pictures. Affirming
my ability to be less attached to
outcomes, knowing there's more.

The paintings are bunch of squares right
now. Undiscernable as to where they
belong, yet they DO. Currently they
are resting as seen on a canvas.

My regular painting practice
continues. In fact I feel more
inspired in that area. Realizing too
that I don't have to limit myself
to one practice. These two
practices can feed each other.

More to come....
