A Letter of Encouragement

Dear Dreamer,

You know my heart, you know my soul.  We have been fellow travelers and friends for a lifetime.  I realize there have been times when I have been distant and hard to reach.  I am sorry.  I lost my way.

Over the past few years we have started to re-connect.  Somehow your voice has reached me in a new way.  I have heard your call for the love and support of a trusted friend.  Somewhere in that transmission my heart was touched.  I understand you have had a dream buried deep inside for a long time that you now are being prompted to explore and share.  How fortunate for me to be given an invitation to encourage you along on this path.

What comes to mind are things that I have said to my own daughter over the years.  Things like “follow your heart”, “do what you love”, “listen to the still small voice inside” and “don’t give up on your dreams”.  So, it is with you that I share the same sentiments.   Believe in your dream and do what you love.

There are many wise men and women who have expressed and acted upon their dreams and have found the encouragement and strength to persevere along what they have felt is their calling.  I encourage you to do the same.   It doesn’t mean it will be a path without challenge.  Many times choosing the path of heart may make no sense to others.  In fact, it may seem down right crazy.  Do it anyway.  Trust your heart.  Doing what you love is a pathway to realizing a success beyond your wildest dreams.  It’s a pathway to true fulfillment.

One of my favorite quotes is by Thoreau which says, “If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.”

So go forward, know I am here by your side.  A fellow traveler and trusted friend.  Someone who believes in you and your gifts.  Use them. They were given for a reason and not just a season.

I love you!

  1. Just stopping by from Holley’s link-up. It’s so nice to “meet” you. What a beautiful post! I LOVE the quote you used, ““If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with success unexpected in common hours.” Thanks for sharing! Good luck on your journey!
