Behind the Narrative

Yesterday I came across this wonderful series being presented online by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, it’s called 82nd & Fifth.  One hundred curators will talk for two minutes about a work of art that impacted how they see the world. It’s quite amazing!

I’ve watched three of the mini episodes so far and each one draws me in, giving me food for thought.

“Winners and Losers” was my pick for today….  I really enjoyed listening to the narration given and how this curator experiences the grand painting “The Triumph of Marius” by Giovvani Battista Tiepolo.  I came away with insight and appreciation for our common experience as artists and human beings.

This week I hope to make a trip into the city to The Met to see the Matisse exhibit if that works out, I will be sure to take time to experience this masterful work of Tiepolo.

Check out this series by following this link!  It’s inspiring. http://82nd-and-fifth.metmuseum.org/#/all-episodes/
